About

I love creating content for people who want to learn OneNote and go after their goals and improve their life. OneNote is a tool, and while it is important to know how to use the tool, it’s what you build with the tool that really matters.

Here are some things in no particular order that I think will help paint a picture of who I am.

    1. I am originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania but now live in Los Angeles.
    2. I LOVE dogs! I have two shelter rescue dogs and they are both mixed breeds.
    3. I started my Bullet Journal on paper using concepts from the original Bullet Journal system (www.bulletjournal.com) but switched to OneNote. I liked the original system, but I felt that I was spending too much time re-drawing spreads and rewriting lists.
    4. I’ve been involved with the Learn OneNote Conference either as an attendee or speaker every year from the first one!
    5. I host the largest OneNote Facebook group, OneNote Bullet Journal! It’s is filled with helpful, positive people so come join the discussion if you want to talk about OneNote!
    6. Fun fact – I’ve driven across the United States by car (Philadelphia to Los Angeles) 3 times! Trip 2 and 3 were a round trip with my husband our  dog Danny!

Michele, Chris and dog Danny at a dog park in Tuscon during a cross-country trip.
    7. I love studying personal growth and productivity.
    8. I love deep conversation and don’t like small talk.
    9. I started this site and my YouTube Channel primarily to share what I learn about living better, achieving goals, time management, productivity and personal growth. OneNote happens to be one of my favorite tools to help me advance in all of these areas.
    10. I love learning new things! I think that is one thing that draws me to OneNote – no matter how much I learn there is still more to discover!
    11. I host a monthly live video chat covering OneNote and related topics on YouTube. Check out the Take Note Chat #takenotechat here!
    12. While I love browsing all the beautiful and creative journal spreads people share, my journal and planner pages are mostly text and lists. I focus more on practical things I need to manage my life. If you like beautiful pages, try searching the hashtag #onenoteprettypages for some inspiration! (In my case, they are mostly #onenotenotsopretty pages 😃)
    13. I love experimenting, especially with how I manage my life. One of the reasons I love OneNote is that I can change my spreads or how I keep track of things any time I want.
    14. One of my #onenoteprettypages videos was featured on the @OneNoteEDU Twitter account!

    15. My husband and I both love bicycles, and we hope to be car-free someday. Living in LA, driving is not fun and traffic is as bad as you have probably heard it is!
    16. Being an aunt/auntie/godmother is one of my most treasured roles in my life! I have had the great fortune to be in one of these roles for 6 kids!
    17. When it comes to digital tools for managing my life, I like this Albert Einstein quote:”Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.”
    18. I was a hardcore gym-goer for years and loved heavy weights. After having back problems from lack of flexibility, I branched out  and now do a much wider variety of activities including outdoor workouts, outdoor cardio, barre exercise class, dance, yoga and stretching.  My back is much happier!

Me inch-worming my way through a cramped attic space to work on insulation – I’m definitely not claustrophobic!
    19. My husband and I do a lot of work on our home. I’ve done tile, concrete, low voltage wiring, finish carpentry, paint, closet systems, refinishing furniture, building storage in the garage and more! I’ve  always been a fan of home improvement – one of my favorite shows since I was a teenager has been reruns of “This Old House.”
    20. As an undergraduate, I was a double major in Finance and Economics. Without applying, I was offered a scholarship for my MBA right after graduating because my school was starting a new MBA program. I finished that degree without really knowing what I planned to do with it.
    21. I participated in the Walt Disney World College Program as an undergraduate. It was amazing and I got college credit for being there!
    22. The official Microsoft OneNote Education Facebook page featured my video on how to set up a Bullet Journal in OneNote!
    23. Genealogy is one of my passions! Like many of the other things I am drawn to, it’s something that you can never learn everything about. I like taking facts gleaned from documents and putting them together into a narrative of someone’s life.
    24. The absolute highlight of any day or week is finding out one of my videos, blog posts or answer to a question helped someone. Being of service is one of my most valued goals in life, and this is one way I get to be of service to others.
    25. Of all of the jobs and careers I have had, my current is my favorite!
